There was a time in which Valle de Orizaba was in a state of industrial splendor; therefore, it was in a state of economical growth. However, after two important events took place in the history of the valley, the city located in Veracruz suffered a dramatic economical and social transformation, identified by low wages, poor life conditions, and unemployment. In Orizaba, the industrial growth in the valley -result of the industrial revolution- and the development of the Mexican Revolution were the main factors that transformed the political, social, and economical structures of this region. For these reasons, the author analyzes the causes and consequences of these events by exploring life after one of the most important industrial companies of this time, and the role the textile workers and businessmen in these revolutions, considering both the previous and following moments after them.
